Comparison of hexagon head bolts and screws

This table contains information on ISO, ANSI and DIN comparison of hexagon head bolts and screws.

values in mm

1) The DIN 931/933 standards dated 1982/1983 are in agreement with ISO 4014/17 standards dated 1979.

THREAD LENGTH: b (partially threaded)

For nominal length up to 125:

No deviations between ISO, ANSI and DIN.

For nominal length above 125 up to 200:

No deviations between ISO, ANSI and DIN. ISO does not specify a thread length for the sizes M 5 and M 6. Above these sizes the thread length is identical to DIN and ANSI.

For nominal length above 200:

For the sizes M 5, M 6 and M 8 only ANSI specifies a thread length. M 10 and above no deviation in thread length between DIN and ANSI. ISO does not stipulate a thread length up to M 16. M 16 and above no deviation between the 3 standards.

THREAD TOLERANCE:

All standards specify a thread tolerance of 6g before plating, and 6h after plating. All the other geometric functions are the same and are functionally interchangeable.

 BODY DIAMETER: ds

No deviations between ISO, ANSI and DIN.
